Jackfish Lake is a large lake suitable for boating, water sports and fishing. The lake contains many other beaches, including a provincial park reachable in 25min. The cottage is part of a village called Metinota containing only a single row of cottages along the beach. It is a very safe and family friendly community. The lake shore is shallow, offering excellent swimming for young children.

Villa venusta has its own private sandy beach directly outside its front door. Sunny areas are also available on the front deck, and on a wooden dock leading down to the beach.

There is also a family friendly 9-hole golf course just 2min away and two excellent 18-hole courses 25min away. Many additional challenging courses are available within a short drive.

Winter activities are also popular with skating, snowmobile trails, cross country ski areas, and ice-fishing. Table Mountain downhill ski area is ~40min away.
